General description
Sodium Bromide is an inorganic compound that is commonly used as a source of bromide ions as a nucleophile or nucleophilic catalyst. It is also used as a precursor to reactive electrophilic bromine species, which are useful for a variety of organic transformations.
Application
Sodium Bromide can be used as a catalyst in TEMPO-mediated oxidation reactions. It is also used to grow the single crystal of γ-glycine by the slow cooling method.
