Application
杆状病毒是用于生产重组蛋白的强效表达系统。最知名、研究最透彻的杆状病毒载体表达系统 (BEVS) 利用草地贪夜蛾细胞（特别是 Sf9）作为优选宿主细胞，通过重组苜蓿银纹夜蛾核多角体病病毒感染以表达异源蛋白。最近的研究表明其他细胞系可成为比灰翅夜蛾细胞更好的表达载体。据报道，粉纹夜蛾的 BTI-TN-5B1-4 克隆体（常称为 High Five™）可作为优秀的宿主载体，利用 BEVS 表达精选的重组蛋白。该细胞系具有很强的贴壁性质，但也可适应悬浮生长。
EX-CELL™ 405 是一种无血清、适合 BTI-TN-5B1-4 (Tn5, High Five) 细胞生长和存活的理想培养基。此外，EX-CELL 405 可支持 High Five 细胞生产重组蛋白，比所报道的 Sf9 细胞产量更高。EX-CELL 405 也是一种完全培养基，在使用前不需要补充蛋白质。
