钾是一种细胞内阳离子，只有人体中2%的K+ 存在于细胞外液中。K+ 在细胞内和细胞外的空间分布可通过几种转运途径的作用来分析，如Na+-K+-ATP酶、Na+-K+-2Cl-共转运蛋白NKCC1，四种KCC和过多的K+ 通道。此外，骨骼肌含有人体近75%的钾，并对细胞外K+产生相当大的影响。口服氯化钾可预防或纠正因使用利尿剂或其他情况引起的钾缺乏。它被用作食品补充剂和食盐替代品。

应用

氯化钾溶液被用作以下溶液组分：
  • 基于多重退火和循环的扩增循环(MALBAC)裂解缓冲液，用于消化用于单细胞多组学测序的蛋白质
  • 单细胞标记的逆转录(STRT)缓冲液，以及用于单细胞RNA测序的STRT-RT缓冲液细胞
  • 磷酸盐缓冲液(PBS)，用于冲洗转染细胞
