S-烯丙基-L-半胱氨酸（(±)-L-蒜氨酸）(SAC) 可用于研究其作为抗阿尔茨海默病因子的潜力。SAC 通过增加 5-HT (1A) 增加细胞增殖和神经母细胞分化，并为神经元和突触提供抗氧化益处。
