General description
淀粉样β蛋白片段1-40 (Aβ40)来源于淀粉样-β蛋白(Aβ)，对应于人类21q21.3染色体。Aβ40主要存在于血管淀粉样蛋白沉积物中。Aβ40包含C端膜插入结构域。其可揭示水胶束介质中从无规卷曲结构到α-螺旋结构的结构转变。
Application
淀粉样β蛋白片段1-40已用于：
- 基于温度的构象研究，采用傅里叶变换红外/差分扫描量热法（FT-IR/DSC）开展研究
- 用作夹心式酶促免疫测定的参考标准品，以定量头部外伤患者脑脊髓液中的淀粉样蛋白A4
- 用作胚胎干细胞培养基组分，抑制成纤维细胞淀粉样蛋白沉积
Biochem/physiol Actions
淀粉样β蛋白片段1-40 (Aβ40)可形成基于阳离子的离子通道。
淀粉质 β-蛋白是神经营养性的，但在人和大鼠神经细胞 体内和体外培养中是有神经毒性的。 β-淀粉质多肽（氨基酸1-42和1-43）是爱尔兹海默′s 病人海马，新皮质和杏仁核中老年斑和神经原纤维结的主要组成部分。
Preparation Note
为了保证最大的生物活性，用无钙PBS中稀释至1mg/ml保存，在37℃培养4天。
