General description

抗坏血酸又称维生素C，其中含有植物和某些动物物种合成的六碳内酯，而人类和其他灵长类动物无法合成这一成分。维生素C是水溶性维生素。维生素C是各类柑橘类水果所含的成分，如印度醋栗、西兰花、草莓、抱子甘蓝。L-抗坏血酸是抗坏血酸的生物活性形式。这种成分性质不稳定且亲水。抗坏血酸带有中性电荷，可通过质子化转变为抗坏血酸盐。

Application

L-抗坏血酸已可用于诱导成骨细胞从原代骨髓培养物中的分化。
它已被用来分化hCMPCs(人心肌细胞祖细胞)成心肌细胞。
它被用来测量线粒体电子传递链(复合物IV)的活性。

Biochem/physiol Actions

L-抗坏血酸参与神经递质、肉碱和胶原蛋白合成。抗坏血酸可作为多种酶的酶促辅助因子，可用作单加氧酶和双加氧酶的电子供体。抗坏血酸还起到强力抗氧化剂的作用，特别是对活性氧。维生素C表现出抗氧化特性。维生素C与皮肤抗光老化和抗衰老有关。维生素C缺乏与坏血病、牙龈出血、伤口愈合不良、贫血和肌肉萎缩有关。
