Sigma的Annexin V-Cy3试剂盒可以配合荧光显微镜来检测凋亡细胞上结合的膜联蛋白V。该试剂盒采用Cy3.18作为偶联膜联蛋白的荧光染料。通过显微镜检测发现，Cy3.18的荧光亮度比FITC偶联物更高。该试剂盒包含非荧光化合物6-羧基荧光素二醋酸盐 (6-CFDA)，后者可以进入到细胞并被活细胞中的酯酶水解，形成荧光化合物6-羧基荧光素，从而证明细胞是否存活。结合荧光显微镜，就可以区分出早期凋亡细胞（膜联蛋白V阳性，6-CFDA阳性）、坏死细胞（膜联蛋白V阳性，6-CFDA阴性）和活细胞（膜联蛋白V阴性，6-CFDA阳性）。
