应用
6-苄氨基嘌呤溶液已被用作Murashige &Skoog培养基（MS）的成分，用于培养柑橘外植体和马来甜龙竹（Schultes f.）幼苗。它也已被用作葡萄藤外植体的Nitsch培养基（NN）的补充剂。
生化/生理作用
6-苄氨基嘌呤（BAP）可用作植物生长培养基的细胞分裂素补充剂它可通过防止叶绿素降解来延长绿色蔬菜的收获后寿命。它可用于微繁殖。 但是，在某些植物中，BAP导致生长和根系形成受到抑制。BAP苯环基衍生物被广泛用于测试其抗癌作用。
