Biochem/physiol Actions
An 8-bromodeoxyuridine resistant mutant of mouse L cell fibroblasts (Mouse strain C3H/An). B82 lacks thymidine kinase and was isolated by virtue of resistance to 8-bromodeoxyuridine (30 μg/ml). ECACC has two catalogue entries for the B82 cell line which differ in that they were deposited by different groups: B82 (Sigma Catalogue number 85011408) and B82(Hamprecht) (Sigma Catalogue number 08062522). Several other cell lines in the ECACC catalogue have been derived from B82(Hamprecht).

Preparation Note
DMEM + 2 mM glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 1 mM 8-bromodeoxyuridine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.05% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
