AB22 cell line from mouse lung

Investigation of the properties of malignant mesothelioma cells and the development of new diagnostic methods.

Mice (BALB/c female 6-8 weeks) were exposed to crocidolite asbestos through intraperitoneal injection resulting in tumour development. Cultures were established from malignant mesothelial cells obtained from ascites fluid. Cells are tumourigenic in syngeneic immunocompetent mice. Cell Bank Australia reference number: CBA0148

Mouse malignant mesothelioma

Optimal split ratio 1:16 - 1:32 (seeding density 0.2 x104 cells/cm²).Cells incubated at 37oC with 5% CO₂.Harvest the cells using 0.05% Trypsin/EDTA at 37°C for 5 min.

RPMI 1640 (with 2mM L-Glutamine+25mM HEPES) + 10% FCS
