Virus replication studies

Derived from the parent line BHK-21 (Clone-13) (Sigma Catalogue number. 85011433). The cells have been adapted to growth in suspension and have the same virus susceptibility as the parent line.

Hamster Syrian kidney

GMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 5% Tryptose Phosphate Broth + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Maintain cultures between 2-9x100,000 cells/ml (split ratio of 1:3 to 1:6); 5% CO₂; 37°C. Cells need to be grown in a techni-stirrer or they may start to re-attach.
