A cell line from a spontaneous transplantable Leydig cell tumour in a Fischer strain rat, reported to secrete steroid, however over a 6 hour period the secretion of oestradiol and testosterone by radioimmunoassay could not be confirmed.

Preparation Note

EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 3-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO2; 37°C.
