Biochem/physiol Actions
Isolated from a myogenic line derived from hind limb muscle of a foetal Swiss-Webster mouse. Non-tumorigenic and highly sensitive to acetylcholine. Confluent cultures form multinucleated myotubes.

Preparation Note
DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Horse Serum (HS) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:8 i.e. seeding at 1-3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Myotubes are formed at confluency, this is assisted by reducing both sera to 4%.
