From adult male Tokay Gekko (indigenous to Southeast Asia). Observed to undergo spontaneous chromosomal alterations from a normal diploid number of 38 to a bimodal distribution of chromosome number 38-40. Susceptible to a number of mammalian viruses at 36°C.

Preparation Note
EMEM (HBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4. seeding at 4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 30°C.
