Frog Grass embryo
Previously designated RPH68.2A. Derived from androgenetic haploid embryos of the grass or leopard frog, (Rana pipiens). The cells retain their haploid chromosome complement for over 200 generations. Used in genetic studies.
Preparation Note
L15 (50%) + Distilled Water (40%) + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin; 25°C. Do not use CO2.Grow cells in dark (i.e wrapped in foil). Cells do not reach 100% confluency, only approximately 70-80%. Freeze in glycerol.
