Derived from a thymic tumour induced in a DBA/2 mouse by methylcholanthrene. The cells were adapted for in vitro growth. The cells have been widely used in toxicity and radiation studies.

Maintain cultures between 30,000 to 700,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37 C. Cells grow as small clumps.
