Radiation sensitivity and mutation studies.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Derived from the parent line CHO-K1 and is hypersensitive to ionising radiation but not to UV irradiation. Cells may revert to wild-type after 1-2 weeks in culture. They should be checked for sensitivity and recloned when necessary.

Preparation Note
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:5 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 1-2x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
