MAT-Lu is one of a large series of cell lines of transplantable prostatic tumours originating from the spontaneous Dunning R-3327 rat prostatic cancer. The MAT-Lu cell line has been derived from a Metastatic-Anaplastic Tumour metastasising to the lungs (=MAT-Lu) and is androgen-independent.

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 250nM Dexamethasone (DXMT) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:10 to 1:20 i.e. seeding at 2-4x1000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
