Human small cell carcinoma
The cell line COR-L32 has been estalished from a marrow trephine from a poorly-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. The patient has been confirmed to have primary lung cancer. Electron micrographs showed dense core granules and other features of neuroendocrine differentiation. In culture, COR-L32 grow as floating aggregates of packed cells.
Preparation Note
Maintain cultures between 3-9 x 100,000 cells / ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. This is a human small cell carcinoma which grows in large clumps. Cell banks should be frozen at high cell densities e.g. 6-9 x 1000,000 cells/ml to allow for clumping.
RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
