The cell line L41 was reported to have been established by cloning the line J96, which was originally derived from the bone marrow of a child patient with leukaemia. However, it has been found to be indistinguishable from Hela by STR PCR DNA profiling. Therefore, the cell line should be considered as being derived from HeLa. The cell line L41 was mycoplasma eradicated at ECACC. Ethnicity: Black.
