一般描述

通过二氢叶酸还原酶 (DHFR) 将膳食叶酸转化为四氢叶酸的中间产物。在细菌中,二氢叶酸是 7,8-二氢蝶酸由二氢叶酸合成酶生成。

应用

二氢叶酸用于心肌黄酶偶联测定,测定二氢叶酸还原酶(DHFR)活性。它也用作测定缓冲液成分,确定二氢叶酸还原酶(DHFR)的活性。

生化/生理作用

叶酸 (FA) 和二氢叶酸 (FAH2) 是二氢叶酸还原酶 (s) 的底物,将其还原成四氢叶酸 (THF),后者支持“一碳”转移。嘌呤、胸苷酸和各种氨基酸的从头合成以及翻译后甲基化(表观遗传学)需要四氢叶酸。
