General description
γγ-球蛋白是免疫球蛋白，分为5类：IgG、IgM、IgA、IgD和IgE。它们是由血浆细胞生产的糖蛋白抗体。免疫球蛋白是由二硫键连接的四条肽链（2条轻链和2条重链）组成的异源分子。抗原结合位点位于N末端。20%的血浆蛋白属于免疫球蛋白。
Application
γγ-球蛋白已用于细胞因子微球检测技术（Cytometric Bead Array，CBA）的封闭步骤。还用作脑脊液(CSF)γ-球蛋白检测的标准品。
γ-球蛋白已用于研究微量滴定板孔中苄索氯铵测定脑脊液中总蛋白的方法。它用于使用茚三酮测定单宁-蛋白质沉淀物中的蛋白质。它也用于研究左西替利嗪（一种新型的非镇静组胺 H1 受体拮抗剂）在人体中的血液分布。
Biochem/physiol Actions
免疫球蛋白是免疫系统重要的调节因子，应抗原刺激而产生。保护机体免遭细菌、病毒和真菌侵害。免疫球蛋白参与补体系统激活、微生物吞噬的调理、毒素和病毒中和以及对微生物粘附粘膜表面的抑制。免疫缺陷会导致复发性传染病。
