Application

β-Glucanase is used to study cell wall modifications and for carbohydrate hydrolysis. It has been used to supplement barley-based diets for poultry and to study the reopening signal conduits and release of dormancy in the Populus species.

Biochem/physiol Actions

β-Glucanase is involved in cell wall modifications and carbohydrate hydrolysis.

Physical form

Supplied as a solution in 50 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 100 mM NaCl, and 25% glycerol.

Other Notes

One unit will produce 1 μmole of reducing sugar (measured as glucose) from Beta-glucan per minute at pH 5.8 at 70 °C.
