- for lysing Clostridium difficile cells to perform assays of β-glucuronidase
- in granular bed collection substrate which is used to connect downstream of the impactor in the nanoparticle respiratory deposition (NRD) sampler and provide a collection of particles
- for the disintegration of leaf material to form fine powder for DNA extraction
