Sera-Mag™ SpeedBeads and Sera-Mag™ Carboxylate-Modified Magnetic Particles typical application uses include sample preparation, proteomics, nucleic acid isolation, and immunoassay applications.
Sera-Mag™ Magnetic Olido(dt) particles can be used for convenient isolation and extraction of mRNA from a variety of sources for downstream applications such as RT-PCR, cDNA library construction, cDNA microarrays, affinity purification, primer extension and subtractive hybridization.

Features and Benefits

Sera-Mag™ SpeedBeads and Sera-Mag™ Carboxylate-Modified Magnetic Particles allow convenient covalent coupling of target molecules.

  • Carboxylic groups on the surface permit easy covalent coupling to biomolecules of interest using convenient carbodiimide chemistry.
  • Different levels of hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity available.
  • Available in Sera-Mag™ SpeedBeads and original Sera-Mag™ versions.
  • Excellent sensitivity and low nonspecific binding for greater accuracy.
  • Fast Magnetic Response Times and Stable Physical Integrity.
  • Very high, specific poly A+ binding capacity ensures maximum extraction of mRNA.
  • Covalently bound oligo(dT)14 prevents leaching from the particle surface.
  • Encapsulation means no exposed iron and minimized interference with downstream enzymatic applications.
  • Uniform, nominal 1 μm diameter provides high surface area and excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility.

Preparation Note

Unless otherwise stated, refrigerate (2-8 °C) product when not in use but do not freeze. Store upright and keep bottle tightly sealed. Mix product with gentle inversion by hand, roller or vortex mixer.
