生化/生理作用

DUSP9 (dual specificity phosphatase 9) gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein belonging to the dual specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. These proteins dephosphorylate both the phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues in the target kinases and deactivate them. Dusp9 preferentially recognizes and inactivates classical ERK1 (extracellular signal-regulated kinase-1) and -2 MAPKs (mitogen-activated protein kinases) in mammalian cells that are associated with cellular proliferation and differentiation. It protects against the development of insulin resistance by inactivating the mediators involved in stress-induced insulin resistance. It may serve as a therapeutic target for insulin-resistant disorders.
