General description
PNCK (pregnancy up-regulated nonubiquitous CaM kinase) gene encodes a serine/threonine kinase that shares homology with members of the CaM kinase family. The molar mass of this protein is 38kDa. The gene is mapped to human chromosome Xq28 that is linked to multiple distinct mental retardation syndromes. The expression levels of this protein increases during intermediate and late stages of murine fetal development and is specifically expressed in certain tissues in brain, uterus, ovary, and testis. Its expression is highest in murine late pregnancy during mammary development.
Immunogen
Calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase type 1B recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)
Application
All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.
The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. We also provide Prestige Antibodies® protocols and other useful information.

Biochem/physiol Actions
PNCK (pregnancy up-regulated nonubiquitous CaM kinase) is a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent kinase that induces degradation of ligand-independent epidermal growth factor receptor. It may play a role in the development of the central nervous system. It may also function in mammary development.
Features and Benefits
Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.
Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
- IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
- Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Pregnancy up-regulated non-ubiquitous calmodulin kinase (PNCK) is a member of calmodulin kinase, and overexpression of PNCK with involvement in carcinogenesis have been reported in HER-2 amplified breast cancer, clear cell renal cell carcinoma and nasopharygeal carcinoma. However, the expression of

While screening for protein kinases expressed in the murine mammary gland, we identified previously a Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent kinase, Pnck, that is most closely related to CaMKI. In this report, we show that Pnck is temporally regulated during murine mammary development with

Purpose: Recent studies indicate that pregnancy upregulated non-ubiquitous calmodulin kinase (PNCK) is significantly up-regulated in breast and renal carcinomas. However, the expression profile and its biological relevance of PNCK in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) have not been elucidated. Methods: The expression

Calcium is an important second messenger in eukaryotic cells. Many of the effects of calcium are mediated via its interaction with calmodulin and the subsequent activation of Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent (CaM) kinases. CaM kinases are involved in a wide variety of cellular
