ADAM15 (ADAM metallopeptidase domain 15) is a membrane-anchored, transmembrane protein consisting of an amino-terminal metalloprotease domain, a disintegrin domain, a cysteine-rich region and a membrane proximal EGF-like domain. It is widely expressed in different tissues and cell types. It plays a vital role in cell adhesion, αβ3 dependent cell-cell interaction, and proteolytic ectodomain processing of cytokines and adhesion molecules. Its disintegrin domain interacts with the integrin protein family of the haemopoietic cells during cell adhesion.
