SLA (SRC-like-adapter) is an adaptor protein highly expressed in the fetal brain and lung. In humans, it is localized within the genomic organization of the human thyroglobulin (Tg) gene. It acts as the major inhibitor of T- and B-cell receptor signaling. It also performs in Eck receptor tyrosine kinase signal-transduction pathway with the direct association of E3 ubiquitin ligase. This interaction provides stability to the receptors and guides signaling pathways. It acts as a glucocorticoid-regulated gene in acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
