The gene HRH2 (histamine receptor H2) encodes a histamine receptor that is a G protein-coupled molecule. It is involved in signal transduction via Gs molecule. It mediates the secretion of gastric acid. It functions in the regulation of gastrointestinal motility and intestinal secretion by binding to histamine. It alters the response of dendritic cells to microbial ligands.
