General description
CAP-Gly domain containing linker protein 2 (CLIP2) possesses a structural maintenance of chromosomes (Smc) domain. The gene encoding this protein is localized on human chromosome 7q11.23.

Application
Anti-CLIP2 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem/physiol Actions
CAP-Gly domain containing linker protein 2 (CLIP2) takes part in cell division, segregation of chromosomes and in attaching organelles to microtubules. CLIP2 may be useful as a marker in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Mutations in the gene encoding it have been linked with Williams-Beuren syndrome and it has been shown to be expressed in colorectal carcinomas.
