General description
白细胞介素-1（IL-1），最初称为淋巴细胞活化因子（LAF），可激活T细胞和淋巴细胞，从而使其进一步增殖并分泌白细胞介素-2。1 IL-1主要从受刺激的巨噬细胞和单核细胞中释放出来，但也可从其他几种细胞中释放出来，2 并被认为在炎症和免疫反应中起关键作用。3 IL-1的其他同义词包括：内源性热原（EP）、促有丝分裂蛋白（MP）、Helper Peak-1（HP-1）、T细胞替代因子III（TRF III或TRFH）、B细胞活化因子（BAF）、以及B细胞分化因子（BDF）。4 两种密切相关的试剂，白细胞介素-1α （IL-1α ）和白细胞介素-1β（IL-1β）可结合相同的细胞表面受体，并引起几乎相同的生物反应，但它们的氨基酸序列中仅具有25％的同源性。重组大鼠IL-1β是一种含有153个氨基酸残基的，大小为17.3kDa的蛋白质。
