脂质混合物的密度由近 85% 的蜡酯组成。蜡酯混合物在常压下熔化与温度的函数关系。在常压下脂质混合物的全流体和全凝胶状态中，未观察到显著的非随机长期横向脂质分布迹象。在脂质混合物的两相共存区域内观察到的浓度波动的形态可表征为具有分形性质的共存团簇的复杂异质网络。
