Analysis Note
≤10 μg/mL时的促有丝分裂活性。
凝集活性以 mg/mL 表示，通过 1 mg/mL 溶液的系列稀释液测定。该活性是在 25℃ 下孵育 1h 后凝集 2% 人红细胞的磷酸盐缓冲盐水 (pH 6.8) 混悬液的最低浓度。促有丝分裂活性由 BrdU 掺入决定。

Biochem/physiol Actions
PHA由两种分子种类组成，即具有低促有丝分裂活性和高红细胞凝集素活性的红细胞凝集素（PHA-E），和具有高促有丝分裂和白细胞凝集活性但具有非常低的红细胞凝集活性的白细胞凝集素（PHA-L）。
PHA-E不具有血型特异性，但其凝集活性可被某些低聚糖抑制。 在分离和纯化红细胞凝集素和白细胞凝集素之前，PHA-P是PHA的蛋白质形式。 PHA-M是粘蛋白形式。 结合物由相应的纯化凝集素进行制备。

凝集素凝集细胞，沉淀多糖和糖蛋白。具有抗癌、抗人免疫缺陷病毒（抗-HIV）和抗微生物感染特性。凝集素与毒性过敏原和血凝素有关。凝集素可抑制粘膜萎缩、降低2型糖尿病和肥胖症、增强营养吸收和调节药物靶向。
General description
凝集素是碳水化合物结合蛋白， 含四个亚基，分子量为125kDa。白细胞凝集素PHA-L是植物凝集素，由中枢神经系统神经元转运。
