Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

乳铁蛋白是一种铁结合蛋白。 它的结构与转铁蛋白类似,即血浆铁转运蛋白;但乳铁蛋白对铁的亲和力要高得多(250倍)。它在初乳中的含量非常高,并且在泪液、唾液、粘液分泌物和中性粒细胞的次级颗粒中也少量存在。它由粘膜上皮和嗜中性粒细胞产生,由这些细胞在炎症刺激下释放。乳铁蛋白可以通过与铁螯合而抑制细菌生长,并且通过其N-末端与脂多糖结合而增加细菌细胞壁通透性。乳铁蛋白可以通过与病毒包膜蛋白紧密结合而抑制病毒感染。这能够阻断细胞与病毒的结合域,从而防止细胞-病毒融合。乳铁蛋白可能通过刺激白细胞介素-8(一种中性粒细胞激活剂)的释放而激活宿主防御系统。 它还可能参与抗体和白细胞介素合成、淋巴细胞增殖和补体激活。
