一般描述

甲基乙二醛（MG）是一种葡萄糖代谢物，其与糖尿病患者的周围神经病和疼痛相关。它可上调感觉神经元中的细胞内钙并产生行为伤害感受。甲基乙二醛具有抗菌性。MG可作为蛋白-糖化剂和晚期糖基化终产物的前体。它会损害糖尿病伤口的愈合。

应用

甲基乙二醛溶液已用于：
  • 评估乙二醛酶1 (GLO1)的酶活性
  • 在体外作为制备白蛋白的晚期糖基化终末（AGE）形成剂
  • 调节小鼠焦虑样行为
  • 诱导大鼠腹膜纤维化
  • 研究有机化学品和金属DNA加合物的色谱保留特性
  • 用于小鼠足底内注射以研究甲基乙二醛（MG）-瞬时受体电位锚蛋白1（TRPA1）-腺苷酸环化酶1同种型（AC1）途径的外周和中心组成
