肾素,也称为血管紧张素原酶,是一种天冬氨酰蛋白酶,可切割血管紧张素原,形成血管紧张素 I,这是肾素-血管紧张素系统(RAS)的初始和限速步骤。该系统在血压和体液平衡的调节中起关键作用。由于血管收缩和液体潴留增加,肾素活性增加可导致高血压。肾素抑制剂可用于高血压的治疗。
