General description
This plasmid has been designed so that sequences can inserted between two reporter genes (renilla and firefly luciferase) to allow the relative transcription level in both directions to be determined by measuring the reporter luminescence. Dual luciferase reporter assay kits are available from other providers that are compatible with this plasmid. The plasmid only contains a Bgl2 site between the two genes to allow insertion.

Application
This plasmid contains two luciferase reporter genes (Firefly and Renilla) in opposing directions with a Bgl2 restriction site in between the two genes to allow promoters to be inserted. This allows the transcriptional level of DNA sequences and promoters to be determined in both directions by inserting the sequences into the Bgl2 restriction site. If the sequence you would like to insert contains a Bgl2 site fragments with BamHI also have the same overhangs and can be ligated into this plasmid cut with Bgl2.

Recycling of signaling proteins is a common phenomenon in diverse signaling pathways. In photoreceptors of Drosophila, light absorption by rhodopsin triggers a phospholipase Cβ-mediated opening of the ion channels transient receptor potential (TRP) and TRP-like (TRPL) and generates the visual

The Notch3 signaling pathway is thought to play a critical role in cancer development, as evidenced by the Notch3 amplification and rearrangement observed in human cancers. However, the molecular mechanism by which Notch3 signaling contributes to tumorigenesis is largely unknown.
