Application

1-O-Palmityl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine also known as Lyso-PAF-(C16) can be used as a standard in the assay of platelet-activating factor.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Accumulation of lyso-PAF in atherogenic aortas may lead to unregulated PAF formation and can cause atherosclerosis.
