纤溶酶原是蛋白酶纤溶酶的无活性前体。纤溶酶原由组织型纤溶酶原激活剂 (tPA) 激活,tPA 主要激活纤溶酶的纤维蛋白溶解(血栓溶解)活性,或者由尿激酶型纤溶酶原激活剂 (uPA) 激活,uPA 与细胞外基质重塑和细胞迁移有关。纤溶酶可裂解纤维蛋白/纤维蛋白原和凝血因子 V/Va 以及 VIII/VIIIa。它可通过裂解非活性酶原激活基质金属蛋白酶。还与某些生长因子的激活有关,如血管內皮生長因子 (VEGF) 和转化生长因子 β (TGF-β)。
