WAY-208466 is a high affinity (Ki = 4.8 nM) 5-HT6 receptor agonist. In HeLa cells expressing cloned human 5-HT6, the compound induced cAMP production (EC50 = 7.3 nM; Emax = 100%). WAY-208466 increases cortical GABA levels and exhibits anxiolytic activity in rat studies.
