General description
GRK1 (rhodopsin kinase) is an enzyme that belongs to serine/threonine protein kinase family and expresses mainly in rod and cone photoreceptors. It has a crucial role in phosphorylation of photoactivated rhodopsin and hence starting steps in its deactivation. Monoclonal anti-rhodopsin kinase 1a antibody can be used in immunoprecipitation. Mouse anti-rhodopsin kinase 1a antibody reacts specifically with an epitope present in the C-terminal region of mouse, bovine, rat, chicken and human GRK1a. The product has shown no cross-reactivity with other G protein coupled kinases together with GRK1b.
Rhodopsin Kinase 1A encodes a member of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor kinase subfamily of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. The protein phosphorylates rhodopsin and initiates its deactivation.
Immunogen
derived from human GRK1
