生化/生理作用

链球菌溶血素O由分子量为62 kDa的单条多肽链组成。 链球菌溶血素O可结合细胞膜胆固醇，并聚合形成含45-50个单体的环形结构。 环结构插入膜中形成一个可供DNA、RNA、肽和蛋白分子通过的大孔洞（25-30nm）。 硫醇活化。 受大蒜活性成分——大蒜素(Allicin)抑制。
