The expression of CDC25B (cell division cycle 25B) can be considered as a prognostic marker in the pathogenesis of retinoblastoma. It helps to dephosphorylate CDK1 (cyclin-dependent kinase 1) and ERK1/2 (extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2). It controls the cell cycle.

General description
CDC25B (cell division cycle 25B), a short half-life protein belongs to the dual-specificity CDC25 phosphatases family. It is located on human chromosome 20p. The protein is upregulated in late G2 of the cell cycle.

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CDC25B around the phosphorylation site of Ser323.
