General description
Dolutegravir is an antibioitic which belongs to the class of compounds known as integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Dolutegravir inhibits HIV-1 viral replication, high potency against the HIV-1 Y143R, N155H, and G140S/Q148H mutants. Dolutegravir inhibitis the action of the HIV integrase enzyme, which is necessary for the integration of viral DNA into the host genome, thereby preventing viral replication and reducing HIV viral load.
