丹酚酸B(Sal B)已用于通过硫黄素T(ThT)荧光法测定丹酚酸B对α-突触核蛋白聚集动力学的抑制作用。它还用作参考化合物，用于通过指纹图谱分析确认myelophil（黄芪丹参混合物）的可重复性。

生化/生理作用
