General description

棉纤维素具有抗炎特性。它抑制半乳糖诱导的白内障形成,并降低β淀粉样蛋白诱导的毒性。 棉纤维素对于四氯化碳诱导的毒性和双(2-氯乙基)硫化物诱导的皮肤毒性具有保护作用。它还诱导骨髓瘤细胞凋亡。棉纤维素具有抗惊厥作用。

Biochem/physiol Actions

棉酚是一种从木槿中分离出来的消炎性五羟基黄酮葡萄糖苷,可用作治疗糖尿病、黄疸和炎症的草药。棉酚可有效抑制人类癌细胞的增殖,包括黑色素瘤和神经胶质瘤细胞。棉酚蛋白能够直接结合并抑制BRAFV600E和CDK4激酶,并调节U251胶质瘤细胞中的Chk1和Cdc25C。
