Blood-brain barrier (BBB)-permeable formyl peptide receptor 1 (FPR1) antagonist with therapeutic efficacy in murine intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) models in vivo.
T-0080 is a blood-brain barrier (BBB)-permeable formyl peptide receptor 1 (FPR1) antagonist that effectively inhibits fMLF-dependent response in human and murine neutrophils cultures (10 nM fMLF-induced human neutrophil Ca2+ response IC50 = 0.85 μM) and attenuates brain edema and improved neurological outcomes in murine intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) models in vivo (5 mg/kg via daily i.p.) with no short-term adverse effects (up to 2 g/kg p.o.).
