Phyllodulcin is an orally bioavailable and blood brain barrier permeable natural sweetener isolated from Hydrangea macrophylla var. thunbergii that mediates anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal activities. Phyllodulcin efficiently reduces Aβ aggregation in the hippocampus and enhances memory-related processes. It minimizes neuroinflammation in the hippocampus and inhibits microglia and astrocytes activation.
