Biochem/physiol Actions

Galidesivir (BCX4430) is an inhibitor of viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RDRP) function with broad spectrum antiviral activity including against West Nile virus and tick-borne flaviviruses, Zika, haemorrhagic filoviruses Ebola and Marburg in addition to bunyaviruses, arenaviruses, paramyxoviruses, and coronaviruses. Galidesivir potently inhibits SARS-CoV-2 replication in cell-based assays. Also, it protected against Ebola virus and Marburg virus disease in rodent models and protected macaques from Marburg virus infection when given as late as 48 hours after infection.
